About Mental Health
So what is mental health? WHO, the World Health Organization, defines mental health as “as a state of well-being in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community”
Having a mental illness or dealing with mental health issues does not mean you are crazy or that you have done something wrong. A mental health problem is the same as a physical health problem. They can happen to anyone without regard to social status, race or gender. There is no shame in having a mental illness. Never let anyone tell you otherwise. You are God’s child and He will be with you every step of the way on your road to mental health.
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2nd Corinthians 12:9
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect” Romans 12:2
